Smoke Free Policy Implementation

The Sylacauga Housing Authority (SHA)’s Smoke Free Policy was designed to create a healthier, safer, and more sustainable environment; that promotes quality of life for its residents by eliminating smoking in all of its areas. The SHA Smoke-Free policy also covers areas surrounding the property, which includes, but not limited to: doorways, entrances, windows, porches, parking lots, sidewalks, playgrounds and maintenance facilities.

The Smoke-Free Policy does not require tenants or employees to quit smoking in order to live and/or work at the SHA developments and offices or drive its vehicles. It only restricts the activity of smoking on all SHA properties. The SHA Smoke Free Policy went in to effect on July 1, 2018.
