SHA’s 1st Annual Women’s Empowerment Conference

The Sylacauga Housing Authority (SHA) hosted their First Annual Women’s Empowerment Conference on May 18, 2018, at the Sylacauga City Schools (SCS) Board of Education Main Conference Room. The keynote speaker for this conference, Melva Tate, is the CEO/Owner of Tate and Associates.

Ms. Tate empowered all those in attendance to “Relax, Relate, and Release” from the unnecessary stressors of daily life and commission themselves to advance farther than they could ever imagine. In addition, Ms. Tate gave away six free life coaching sessions to six lucky residents.

The focus of this conference was to provide a centralized connection of primary resources for families within SHA and the surrounding communities, and to encourage and empower them on their path to self-sufficiency. This event was held in conjunction with the HUD Strong Families initiative to provide families with local resources for health, education, and economic empowerment. The Women’s Empowerment Conference was a golden opportunity for the women in attendance to connect with the tools needed to grow their families.
