Press Release: Possible Bomb Threat at Sylacauga Housing Authority Central Office

At approximately 11:08 am on September 19, 2019 the Sylacauga Police Department was notified of a possible bomb threat at the Sylacauga Housing Authority Central Office located at 415 W 8th Street in Sylacauga. The Central Office Building as well as the Sylavon Court Offices were evacuated. Sylacauga Housing Authority administration is in direct contact with the Sylacauga Police at this point.

Upon arrival at the scene Sylacauga Police conducted a brief investigation and supported the evacuation of all SHA Staff and guests. The Sylacauga Fire Department was dispatched the scene as well as Paramedics. Following the Sylacauga Police Department's investigation of the building, the Central Office Building as well as the Sylavon Court Offices were declared safe and SHA staff could re-enter the building. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
