Notice to Residents: Emergency Maintenance Orders

Dear Residents -

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

As the Sylacauga Housing Authority (SHA) continues to make all efforts to ensure the safety of our residents and staff, we are complying with Governor Kay Ivey's Stay at Home Order. Therefore, we would like to inform you that SHA will only be servicing EMERGENCY maintenance calls at this time. All other maintenance orders will be addressed when we resume normal business operations. Also, we ask that upon the arrival of the maintenance staff, that you step outside of your home or remain in your bedroom until they have completed the order. The following will be considered as an emergency maintenance call:

• Gas leaks
• Smoke detector performing improperly
• Apartment with no electricity
• Apartment with no heat/air
• Downed electrical wires or broken electrical meter
• Apartment flooding
• Sewage back up
• Forced entry/break-in
• Refrigerator is not cooling or freezing
• Tenant is locked out of his/her apartment

Please call the emergency maintenance line at (256) 249-6042 if you have a work order/repair that is deemed as an emergency. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

Thank you,
Sam Royster, Executive Director
Sylacauga Housing Authority
